Babies and toddlers will showcase their athletic skills next month in the fourth Bahrain Junior Olympics.
Preparation is underway for the competition that is being organised by the Bahraini Olympic Committee to be held at Isa Sports City from May 5 to 8.
So far, 1,000 boys and girls have signed up to compete in seven different disciplines including athletics, artistic gymnastics, volleyball, taekwondo, cycling, football, and basketball.
According to organisers, the aim of the contest is to ‘create early focus in young children’s minds on the importance of exercise, while also promoting the significance of physical education and sports by raising parents’ awareness’.
