The ‘Healthy City’ certification was awarded by the World Health Organisation to the City of Tabuk in Saudi Arabia.
This achievement was thanks to the efforts of multiple government agencies.
“Tabuk's recognition as a ‘Healthy City’ reflects the leadership's commitment to improving quality of life and promoting public health across the country,” shared Saudi Health Minister Fahd Al-Jalajel.
The minister also pointed out that their Healthy Cities programme ‘serves as a pioneering model for enhancing health indicators and reducing chronic diseases’.
Saudi Arabia boasts the largest number of accredited healthy cities in the region, with 15 of them spread across various regions.
