A new track has officially been launched in Zallaq a bid to promote health and well-being in Bahrain.
The 50-kilometer cycling path, called the Nasser bin Hamad Loop, was inaugurated by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, by going on a ride with several bikers.
“The practice of sports is not limited to building the body, spending leisure time, entertainment, and meeting friends,” said Shaikh Nasser. “It has become a world of material gains, as well as a treatment for psychological diseases. We seek to provide all possible support to young athletes in Bahrain, so we can see their names shine in international arenas. Bahrain is a home to cycling sports.”
According to Team Bahrain Victorious, the UCI WorldTeam cycling team from Bahrain, ‘this is a significant step towards promoting cycling safety and providing enthusiasts with a secure environment to train and enjoy the sport’.
The loop is also believed to stand as a testament to Bahrain’s commitment to promoting a culture of health, fitness, and athleticism.
This initiative aligns with Bahrain’s vision to support athletic development and promote healthy lifestyles among its citizens and residents.
