Alf mabrook to Bahraini movie maker and director Maryam Abdulghaffar who recently won best documentary film at the Emirates film festival.
Her 16-minute heartfelt doc, called Dark Forest, tells the tale of Czech painter Tina Palu’s inspiring journey of pursuing her passion for art despite facing challenges and resistance from her family.
Maryam added that the story is a testament to the power of perseverance, creativity, and staying true to oneself.
Her short movie is making its rounds in the film festival circuit. The next one will be in Morocco in April.
Maryam has picked up several accolades over the years.
