Let’s crack on

Stunning strobe lights, holographic waterworks and a drone flying the flag of Bahrain are just three of the spectacular elements that captivated prominent people at the official opening of the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship.

The event, which was held last night at the Bahrain Royal Golf Club, was attended by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad was received by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, first deputy chairman of SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and enjoyed the festivities alongside ministers, diplomats and members of the media.

The ceremony featured a speech by Guy Kinnings, CEO of DP World Tour International Golf, by Faris Al Kooheji, secretary general of the BOC, followed by a musical performance and an immersive cinematic presentation showcasing the history of golf in Bahrain.

The tournament will start on Thursday and end of February 2nd.
