Shaikha Dr. Hessa congratulates Bahrain on its olympic victory.

Merry cheer is contagious in the kingdom as everyone is celebrating Bahrain’s golden glory at the Olympics.

Her Excellency Shaikha Dr Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, the board member of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and head of the Gender Equality Committee, was the latest to express her heartfelt well wishes.

She congratulates His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on runner Winfred Yavi winning the gold medal in the women's 3000m steeplechase at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

"This achievement is the culmination of the continuous efforts made by the wise leadership to support Bahraini women in various fields, especially in sports. Bahraini women have demonstrated their ability to compete and win in the largest international sports events,” said Shaikha Dr Hessa. "We extend our sincere congratulations to runner Winfred Yavi on this remarkable achievement, adding to the series of successes achieved by Bahraini sports.”

 She also extended her congratulations to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

 Shaikha Dr Hessa emphasised that this historic achievement showcases the exceptional capabilities of Bahraini women and their excellence and creativity on the global sports stage. She noted that this success is a source of pride for the Kingdom of Bahrain and evidence of the commitment to providing support and care to all athletes to achieve the highest levels in international competitions.

 “We are confident that this victory will inspire many Bahraini female athletes to achieve more,” added her excellency. “At the Gender Equality Committee, we will continue to support all initiatives that enhance women's participation in sports and elevate the Kingdom of Bahrain's stature on the global stage."
