Bahrain’s top karters to resume Rotax MAX battles this weekend at BIKC

Racers of all ages and nationalities will be gathering at BIC’s world-class grassroots motorsport facility.

BIC, Sakhir – Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, hosts on Saturday (12 October) the second round of the 2024/2025 Bahrain Rotax MAX Challenge (BRMC) – the Kingdom’s premier karting championship.

Racers of all ages and nationalities will be gathering at BIC’s world-class grassroots motorsport facility, Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC), to resume their battles with plenty of intense, wheel-to-wheel racing.

Competition will be held in six different categories, including the Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, MAX DD2, and MAX DD2 Masters.

Participants will be vying for wins, podiums, points, and bragging rights in the quest to be crowned a champion at the end of the season. The title winners will each get the incredible opportunity to represent Bahrain at the annual Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals – one of the most prestigious karting events in the world.

More than 30 talented karters are entered in this weekend's meeting in Sakhir, spearheaded by each of the six winners from the season-opener held last month, who are all returning.

They include Tariq Soofi in the Micro MAX class, Rayyan Najjar in the Mini MAX, Nasser Nass in the Junior MAX, Tye Mejia in the Senior MAX, Abdulla Sajjad in the MAX DD2, and Mohammed Almahroos in the DD2 Masters.

Tariq will be joined in his category by Rashid Almahroos and Abdulaziz Al Sarraf; while the other drivers in the Mini MAX set to compete with Rayyan are Austin Gray, William Lette, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saqer Al Khalifa, Jude Andrews, and Leonard Bossi.

In the Junior MAX, Nasser will be racing Khaled Najjar, Rashid Hilal, Leopold Juch, Demir Abali, Shaheen Shaheen, and Yousif Alghaith; while Mejia will be leading the largest field of the round as he is joined in the Senior MAX grid by Gracie Rose Grantham, Talal Alattas, Mohammed Al Arayedh, Abdullah Al Khater, Mohammed Hilal, Mohammed Alhasan, Evdokiia Karpenko, Yousif Alaali, Abdulla Fakhri, Vedant Menon, Rakan Alfayez, and Zain El Hommossany.

Sajjad will be competing against Oliver Kruglov and Raoul Sadi in the MAX DD2 class, while the DD2 Masters will see Almahroos alongside Erik Juch.

Saturday’s event is being organised by BIC and BIKC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, Bahrain Karting Commission, and Motorsport Marshals Club.

The BRMC’s 2024/2025 calendar features eight rounds, running until February of next year.
Following this weekend’s action, rounds three and four will take place on 15 and 29 November, respectively, as the final BRMC events of the calendar year.

Racing resumes in 2025 with round five on 11 January, and then round six is slated for 24 January. The seventh and penultimate meeting will take place on 8 February, setting the stage for the BRMC finale two weeks later on 21 February.
