Motorsports fans witnessed another exhilarating spectacle over the weekend at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) during National Race Day.
This event marked the sixth and penultimate round of the 2024/2025 local racing season, bringing together some of the island’s top racing talent in the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC) and the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship (BMC).
Held under the lights on BIC’s 2.554-kilometre Inner Track, the event saw fierce competition across both series, with Isa Ebrahim dominating the BTCC yet again, while Mohammed Alzaidan and Saud Al Toura took top honours in their respective BMC classes.
Ebrahim’s performance in the BTCC was nothing short of spectacular. The Honda Civic driver began his weekend by setting the fastest time during practice with a 1:20.547 lap. He carried that momentum into qualifying, claiming pole position with a 1:20.785 lap time. The excitement continued as Ebrahim seized victory in both races, starting with a 1.600-second win in the opening sprint, finishing 21:53.775 after 15 laps. In race two, Ebrahim extended his lead, winning by 8.189 seconds in a time of 20:42.249, with Baqer once again finishing third. Ebrahim’s dominance didn’t stop there; he also set the fastest laps in both races, further cementing his perfect weekend.
In the BMC, Alzaidan emerged victorious in the 600cc class aboard his Kawasaki ZX6, while Al Toura triumphed in the 1,000cc category on his BMW S 1000 RR. The action kicked off with a competitive practice session, where Ali Bou Shahri clocked the fastest 600cc lap at 1:12.176, and Nawaf Al Shuaibi led the 1,000cc class with a 1:12.952 lap.
