A world championship with a lot of weight behind it!

The competition, located across the Bahrain National Theatre from December 4th to the 15th, aims to be a momentous occasion in the weightlifting calendar and for Bahrain.

The upcoming World Weightlifting Championships, which will be held in Manama next month, is generating significant interest among sports officials and Olympic Committees leaders, and will be attended by Mohammed Jaloud Al Shammari, president of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).


Tariq Al Bastaki, chairman of the Championships VIP Committee confirmed that they will be collaborating with the IWF and the national teams participating in the event.

He also emphasised their commitment to ensuring a seamless experience for all involved, co-ordinating essential logistics including ticketing, transportation, accommodation, and training facilities. These efforts are crucial in enhancing the visibility and success of this significant sporting forum.

Additionally, Al Bastaki highlighted the tireless efforts of Eshaq Ebrahim Eshaq, president of the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation, in co-ordinating with various committees to ensure the championship's success.
