The shows will be the singer's first since her Vienna gigs were cancelled last week due to a foiled terror plot.
Fans of Taylor Swift will be allowed into Wembley Stadium earlier than usual for her upcoming Eras Tour performances in London. According to the venue, early entry for the opening show on Thursday (August 15) will start at 3:30 p.m. local time, with general admission beginning at 4 p.m., and the show commencing at 4:55. These entry times have been moved up by 15 minutes, leading to speculation in the English media that Swift may take the stage earlier than her usual 7:25 p.m. start time.
These adjusted times will also apply to the August 19 and August 20 shows, while on Friday (August 16) and Saturday (August 17), early entry will shift to 3:45 p.m. and general admission to 4:15 p.m., with the show beginning at 5:10. As of now, a representative for Swift has not commented on the changes in show times. Swift will be joined on these dates by Raye, Holly Humberstone, Paramore, and Suki Waterhouse.
The sold-out five-night run, which concludes Swift's European Eras Tour, comes a week after Austrian authorities thwarted what they described as a terror plot intended to disrupt the singer's shows during a planned three-night stay at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium from August 8-10. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, including a 19-year-old main suspect who confessed to planning an attack. Another teenager has also been detained, with a third person in custody related to the plot.
Despite the foiled plot, which aimed to cause mass casualties, Swifties gathered in Vienna's streets to sing her songs and celebrate, even after the shows were canceled. A day after the arrests, London officials assured fans that the Vienna cancellations would not affect the UK dates.
Throughout the European tour, viral videos have shown unticketed Swifties gathering in large numbers for "Tay-gating" outside venues, including an estimated 40,000 people in Munich last month who listened to the show from a hillside. However, following the Vienna threat, Wembley has strongly discouraged such gatherings.
Wembley also emphasized that because the stadium is in a residential area, only ticket holders or those visiting the merch stores should come to the venue to minimize disruption to local businesses and residents. "To ensure the safe entry and exit of everyone in the stadium, no one is allowed to stand outside any entrance or on the Olympic Steps at the front of the stadium. Non-ticket holders will be moved along," the venue stated.
