Carpenter has now accumulated a total of 14 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 in 2024.
Sabrina Carpenter continues her dominance on the U.K. Singles Chart, as her catchy single “Taste” secures the No. 1 spot for a second week in a row.
The track, from her sixth album Short n’ Sweet, is the most-streamed song in the U.K. this week, with 8 million streams. Sabrina has now spent a total of 14 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 in 2024, cementing her place as one of the year's top-charting artists.
Making history, Sabrina becomes the first female artist to hold the top three spots on the U.K. Singles Chart for two consecutive weeks. Alongside “Taste” at No. 1, her previous hits “Please Please Please” and “Espresso” remain steady at No. 2 and No. 3. The only other artist to achieve this was Ed Sheeran in 2017, with songs like “Shape of You” and “Galway Girl.”
“Taste” received an extra boost thanks to its viral horror-themed music video, featuring Wednesday star Jenna Ortega.
Beyond Sabrina’s chart sweep, there are other notable shifts in this week’s U.K. Singles Chart.
Oasis’s 1995 classic “Live Forever” reaches a new peak at No. 8, surpassing its original No. 10 peak from 1995. Another Oasis hit, “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” returns to the Top 10 for the first time in 28 years, landing at No. 9, following the buzz around the band’s reunion tour. This marks the first time Oasis has had two singles in the Top 10 at once.
Other movements include Benson Boone’s “Slow It Down,” climbing back to No. 19, and Gigi Perez’s viral hit “Sailor Song” jumping to No. 24.
