International Referees to Oversee Competitions

Great optimism has been expressed by Lounes Madene, President of the Technical Committee for the upcoming International School Games.

The major sporting event, held under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, will be staged across the kingdom from October 23rd until the 31st.

“We are in the final steps before the games start and working diligently to finalise all matters concerning the referees,” said Madene. “Although we have several referees in Bahrain, certain games require internationally certified referees, and we are working with the ISF to bring in these referees from neighbouring regions, particularly from GCC countries.”

There will be 80 school sports federations from 70 countries participating and more than 5,500 athletes registered this year.

Madene pointed out that such extensive participation strengthens international youth connections through sports. He also highlighted that the preparations are progressing swiftly and that they are expected to be completed a week before the event.

“The technical committee has developed comprehensive plans to ensure the smooth execution of all competitions, from match schedules to transport and accommodation arrangements for teams and officials,” Madene added.

Meetings with various technical teams have been organized to finalise all competitions' timings, venues, and logistics.
